Tokyo Picnic Club (TPC)’s “PICNOPOLIS Newcastle Gateshead” is a FREE event which invites you to share 10 days of picnic throughout the city.
As part of EAST’08 – a world-class celebration of contemporary Asian culture in Newcastle Gateshead – TPC will create two different kinds of picnic site, BABYPLANES and MOTHERPLANE, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy summer in the city. During the 10 days, BABYPLANES will travel around the best picnic sites in NewcastleGateshead as chosen by the public, while MOTHERPLANE stays at Gateshead Quays awaiting the return of her babies. All sites are open and free to everyone for picnic, but be careful because TPC will have its spies out documenting your picnic recipes to compile “10 Picnic Recipes for NewcastleGateshead”.
